Peterson B. Zhou wrote: " The passing of this beautiful and brilliant lady is an enormous loss, not only to her family and friends, but also to the world of academia, the press, Chinese society and the global community in general. It pains me beyond words to ponder the loss of this good friend and I will forever remember the time we first met in the Elliott Bay Bookstore in Seattle on May 23, 2003. As we spoke quietly on that day of common issues of concern, I was overwhelmed by her compassion and generosity for the suffering masses all mankind, not just the Chinese. I later asked our staff to interview her because I sensed she was a person who deserved recognition, respect, support, love and admiration as friend and colleague."
